Paul has had a wide-ranging practice in state and federal court for more than three decades. He has been a trusted advisor to the firm’s clients and his colleagues in the firm’s family law and commercial litigation practice since 1998. Paul began his legal career with the firm of Werner & Kennedy, concentrating on reinsurance and general commercial litigation and arbitration. His publications include the New York law chapter (written with John M. Teitler and Nicholas W. Lobenthal) in Family Law: A Global Guide from Practical Law (Thomson Reuters, London, 2011 to present) (formerly known as Family Law: Jurisdictional Comparisons) and the 1996-1999 annual updates to Peter Jakab, William M. Audet & Kimberly A. Fanady, Handling Federal Discovery (James Publishing, Costa Mesa, CA, 1995 to present). He has served on the New York City Bar Association’s Federal Legislation, Copyright & Literary Property, and City Bar Chorus (Co-Chair) Committees, and is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Paul is a member of the bar of the States of New York and Connecticut; the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Connecticut; and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Paul is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1988), where he served as Managing Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal, and Columbia University (A.B. 1985).
