Nicholas W. Lobenthal has represented high net worth individuals and business organizations in complex family law and commercial litigation matters at the firm since 1998.
He has served as counsel in reported cases in New York State and U.S. trial and appellate courts.
He is an elected Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAFL), currently on the USA Chapter Board of Managers, and has been recognized by his peers: he holds a Martindale-Hubbell “AV Preeminent” highest rating (5 out of 5), including ratings of members of the judiciary, with Very High Criteria of General Ethical Standards; is one of Spears 500’s “Top Recommended US Family Lawyers”; is ranked by Chambers & Partners for “Family/Matrimonial: High Net Worth” attorneys; and has been selected as a “Superlawyer” and “Lawdragon.”
Mr. Lobenthal co-authored the New York chapter in “Family Law: A Global Guide” (Thomson-Reuters 5th ed. 2021) and the Chambers’ Child Relocation Guide for New York (2023), and has lectured on business valuation and civil rights.
He is an honors graduate of Yale College and Columbia Law School (Stone Scholar; Wertheimer Prize; editor-in-chief Columbia Journal of Law & Social Problems).
