Von Sanborn is of-counsel to the firm. Von advises high net worth families on estate planning, art law matters, US tax issues and cross-border family office matters. Before joining the firm, Von was a partner at Day Pitney LLP and Withers Bergman LLP. While at Day Pitney LLP, he was Co-Chair of the firm’s Art Law Practice.
In the area of art law, Von assists clients with negotiating the purchase and sale of art, loans backed by art assets and sales and use tax issues. Recently, he has advised clients on art law matters, primarily on the sell side, in transactions aggregating over $200 million.
Along with being rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, Von has also been named to Legal Week’s Private Client Global Elite for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Von has also been selected for inclusion in the Citywealth–Leaders List for the private wealth management and private client industry for 2015, 2016 and 2018 as well as the 2020 Leaders List for art advisory, North America.
